Welsh Mountain Jewellery: A “Geological Snapshot of Gwynedd & Anglesey through the Media of Jewellery & Small Household Items” The jewellery is made from Welsh Cambrian slate. The Cambrian or Llanberis slate belt runs from Bethesda to Nantlle. The slate has a striking feature of coloured bands running through, caused as a result of continental plate subduction 450 million years ago, as the Snowdonia Mountains were formed. The Precambrian Red & Green Jasper from Anglesey & Pen Llyn, created 580 million years ago is used in rings, earrings & cufflinks etc Small household items include items such as Natural Slate Candleholders, Slate Buttons, ‘Comfort Stones’, etc
